About

Decision making

This short online MTA session forms part of a free series of informative and interactive webinars designed to help provide continued support for members during the current lockdown. All sessions are hosted by experts in their fields and/or Mountain Training Course Directors that run training and assessment courses. The majority of our hosts are also current MTA workshop providers. All hosts are generously volunteering their time to run these sessions for members.

Webinar host: Bill Strachan, Glenmore Lodge instructor

About the session:

This is a fairly low ratio session accommodating 20 attendees and is highly interactive.

In the world of avalanche education the "Be Avalanche Aware" process to support decision making has become a tried and tested way of mitigating against poor decisions in the winter mountains. What can we learn from this and can we apply it to the other environments that we find ourselves in? This session will propose a unified decision-making process that could lead to better decisions and a better understanding of the process that leads to good decisions across all adventure sports, 'Be Adventure Aware'.
