About

ECOLOGY FOR LEADERS - PART 4

This short online MTA session forms part of a free series of informative and interactive webinars designed to help provide continued support for members during the current lockdown. All sessions are hosted by experts in their fields and/or Mountain Training Course Directors that run training and assessment courses. The majority of our hosts are also current MTA workshop providers. All hosts are generously volunteering their time to run these sessions for members.

Webinar host:

David Broom is an experienced ecologist and runs a number of environmental workshops across various MTA regions throughout the year.

The Ecology webinar series:

  • Part 1 (14th May - book separately) – An introduction to upland ecology zones as a framework for the organisation and delivery of environmental information by Mountain Professionals;

  • Part 2 (21st May - book separately) – An overview of the main environmental characteristics, habitats and biodiversity conservation interest features within Britain’s upland zones;

  • Part 3 (28th May - book separately) – A review of principal wildlife habitats within the British montane and upper montane zones, looking at ecological adaptations for plant survival on the highest summits.

  • Part 4 (this session) – The use of internet sources for key information on features of upland nature conservation interest for use in planning mountain trips and activities by Mountain professionals.

Timings:
