THIS SESSION IS FOR APPROVED COURSE DIRECTORS/TUTORS ONLY.
As Mountain Training Providers, you offer important opportunities for aspiring leaders to develop relevant skills and experience in facilitating expedition experiences in the lowland to mountain environments.
This session will provide an outline of the DofE programme, its sections, levels, and requirements to develop your understanding and to support DofE leaders who attend your training courses.
We will also explore how your skills courses can be utilised by participants to meet their sectional activity requirements or can be offered as an opportunity to DofE Gold participants, who are completing their Residential section.
An Introduction to The Duke of Edinburgh's Award
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is the world's leading youth achievement award.
The DofE charity works with organisations across the UK to help young people gain essential skills, experience, confidence, and resilience to successfully navigate adult life.
Popularity continues to grow, with over 130 countries and territories now offering DofE programmes as part of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation. Awards are achieved through schools, colleges, universities, youth clubs, businesses, housing associations, young offender institutions, voluntary organisations and more.
This success could not be achieved without the support of the 50,000 DofE leaders and volunteers.
