This workshop is for full members only. It will cover the role of the Technical Adviser in a broad remit working for activity centres, ropes courses, climbing walls, as well as for hill walking, mountaineering, gorge scrambling/ghyll scrambles.
The role of the TA in advising business owners in discharging their responsibilities under various legislation needs a clear understanding about giving such advice. The workshop will also include assessing staff competence and writing statements of competence.
We'll try to include other topics as requested by those attending the workshop as well.
The workshop will be delivered by Joby Maw Davis (WMCI) and Pete Stacey (MCI & IML). This workshop has been successfully delivered to AMI and BAIML members.
Joby is one of the leading TAs for climbing walls in the UK and has a wealth of knowledge in advising activity centres.
Pete is a TA for a number of climbing walls, ropes courses and activity centres.
Both are technical experts for NICAS/NIBAS.
