Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.
Directed by one on the Britain's most experience Course Directors, this assessment course will use the mountains of Northern Snowdonia to provide a platform for candidates to demonstrate their competence both as mountain walkers and mountain leaders, as defined by the syllabus and prospectus of the Mountain Leader Award scheme.
The course is run over five consecutive days.
This is a non-residential course based in a very popular hillwalking location and leaveing candidates free to choose their own level of accomodation, remembering the Wednesday and Thursday nights will be spent camping in the mountains.
