Welsh words on a map can seem quite confusing if you don't understand what they mean and aren't too sure how to pronounce them. I've lived and worked in North Wales for over thirty years and I love maps – and the descriptive words which you can find on them! Come along for the evening, and we'll discuss some of the words commonly used, what they mean (or might mean!) and how they can help you to understand the shape of the land or its use. A few key words can be a helpful navigational aid and can also be interesting discussion points with groups who you may be taking out into the hills. I will bring some maps and a few resources but feel free to bring your own maps or relevant books for us to look at too!
