WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES

This new workshop is aimed at small/medium outdoor providers looking for help establishing an online presence. We'll talk about the value of being online and share tips and guidance for doing it well. It's most likely of use to those who don't have the budget to employ a web designer and digital marketing team (so most of us!)

Workshop content will include the following but is subject to change:

- What is an online presence? Why is it important?
- Having an effective website
- Doing it yourself
- Why a mobile website is essential
- The importance of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
- Why you need a blog
- Where should you be online
- Social media
- Online booking software
- How to market your business online
- An brief introduction to online advertising

There will also be the opportunity for attendees to ask questions and share their websites for an informal group review. Later in the year we hope to provide more advanced topics.

Learning Outcomes:

- To have a greater understanding of the importance a ‘good’ website and an effective online presence.
- To begin to develop a working action plan for your website and online marketing strategy using resources and signposts from the workshop.

EQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIRED

This workshop is being delivered online. You will need a computer, tablet or similar device with a good Internet connection. It's unlikely you'll get the best experience connecting with a smart phone.

WORKSHOP PROVIDER CREDENTIALS

The workshop will be delivered by Simon Pearce. Simon has 25+ years’ experience in website management, web design and online marketing and has been running his own web hosting business since 2001 with responsibility for many thousands of websites in that time. He now works as an outdoor professional and is happy to share his business knowledge with others.

Through Simon's outdoor business he is a Mountain Training and NNAS Provider and also delivers first aid and safeguarding training amongst many other things.

CANCELLATION PROCEDURE

If you're no longer able to attend the workshop, as long as you provide at least seven days notice I'll happily transfer your booking to a future date or give you a full refund. If you choose to cancel with less than seven days notice I won't be able to provide a refund but you can transfer your booking to a future date. Unfortunately no refunds are available for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice or no shows.

If I have to cancel your booking for any reason you can choose between transferring your booking to a future date a receiving a full refund.
