Thankfully, we rarely need to engage the high-level skills we call micro-navigation but they form a crucial part of our skills-set as Leaders and they often need tweaking from practice.

So, led by MTA Regioinal Co-ordiantor, Andy Cloquet (WMCI), this workshop will present opportunities for you to rehearse your attention to detail and develop your confidence to navigate under pressure. 

A range of maps will be available inc. Contour only map. 

Please note that the course will assemble in the village and then drive onto the moor - there is no local train station and buses are infrequent. 

You will need to bring your own food and drinks for time on the moor and we will finish the session in The Foresters Arms

Your £10 fee includes a 50% refund once you've attended and the other half will be a donation to Ochils MRT.

Andy has been working as a Mountain Leader and Instructor for over 37 years and has exclusively run navigation courses for the former charity Boots Across Scotland and now, Mountain Aid. He has mentored numerous candidates attending their ML and WML assessments and is a former Training Officer in Scottish Mountain Rescue.
