Trainer Dan Harmer
I am a qualified geologist with 45-years of relevant experience. I hold a BSc (Wales); MPhil (Cantab); MSc (Bhm) and a Certificate in Management Development (Unisa). I worked as a research geochemist and vulcanologist with the British Antarctic Survey and the University of Cambridge between 1978-84. Since then, I have worked in various capacities in the international mining and mineral exploration industry in Africa, Australasia and the Middles East, specialising in gold and copper. I am currently working part-time as a consultant for Lotus Gold Corporation in Egypt. I have given many presentations on a variety of geo-related topics to both technical and non-technical audiences, including two full-day CPD sessions at BAIML's AGM in Buxton in 2022. I am a Chartered Geologist, a Fellow of both the Geological and Royal Geographical societies and have been a member of the Yorkshire Geological Society since 1971. I have been a member of the Fell and Rock Climbing Club of the English Lakes since 1973. I am also a qualified - but non-working IML.
