WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES

We will be looking at archaeology in the hills, how man-made features often tell the tale of our past and how they are used as markers in the landscape. The clues the landscape holds to human history and the stories it can tell. 

You will also find out how you can help to protect heritage in the landscape and report heritage crime for scheduled monuments. And what to do if you find something on a walk that could be of archaeological interest.

WORKSHOP PROVIDER CREDENTIALS

Helen is the founder of Heritage Hiker a place where heritage and archaeology are mixed with walking to tell the tale of human history and offer a sense of place whist promoting sustainable tourism and preservation of both the natural and historic environment. Helen has 20 years experience in heritage, a trained archaeologist and museum professional she has worked at variety heritage and museum sites across the country including the Roman Baths, Museum Sheffield and the National Trust.

Chris is a life long map lover and trained archaeologist. Chris worked on various excavations both in Wales and England before stepping into the world of visitor monitoring for organisations such as the National Trust, Natural Resources Wales, various different councils and independent trusts.
