Award Description
The Hill and Moorland Leader award is designed for people who want to lead groups in the hill and moorland areas of the UK and Ireland. This award is a wonderful opportunity to learn the leadership skills required to feel confident about taking people out walking. As you may have guessed from the descriptive title of this award, it focuses on non-mountainous terrain.
The Hill and Moorland Leader qualification is ideal for walkers who want to learn the skills required for effective group leadership in the hill and moorland areas of the UK and Ireland. It is used extensively by those involved with delivering the Duke of Edinburgh's Award as well as many walk leaders and outdoor instructors.
The assessment course is a practical 3-days, which will also include an evening in darkness on a navigation exersize. We'll be using locations around the Snowdonia National Park duron the 3-days.
