Short Roping Principles in Mountainous Terrain

The day will be delivered by John Orr IFMGA/WMCI, and will have a focus on the decision making frameworks and judgements that need to be made whilst looking after people in mountainous terrain. These short roping principles apply in all mountainous terrain and so are also of relevance to the winter environment.
After a discussion on goals and aspirations for the day of the group, time will be spent in varying mountainous terrain to allow us to explore both technical and non - technical aspects of short roping, including technical ropework, communication, progression of techniques in ascent and descent and most importantly, efficient and safe decision making.
