This initial workshop will focus on Climate Change in Alpine mountain areas.

Have you ever worried about the impact of the outdoors industry on climate change?

Are you concerned that the education you provide your clients on climate change is outweighed by the impact of them travelling to take a trip with you?

Would you like to learn about the most effective actions we can all take to have a positive impact on the climate and how to discuss these with your clients?

Join researchers from the climate research charity Giving Green, and business sustainability adviser Jennifer Stretton to answer these questions.

The presentation will include an interactive activity and Q&A.

Expected Learning Outcomes

- Overview of climate change
- Learn where global emissions come from by sector
- How climate change is affecting mountain areas – focus on the Alps
- The relative impact of different individual actions on climate change
- Understand the work of the most effective charities in the world working on climate change
- What freelance guides can do to make a positive impact on the climate
- What guiding companies can do to make a positive impact on the climate
- How to draft a sustainability policy for your outdoors company
