DLOG Overview Description

My log book is pretty much up to date for the outdoor activities I have undertaken since my MIA training in April 2014. I have not, however, entered many of the sport trips that I have been on and the 30+ hours of instructing and coaching that I do each week indoors . These courses range from teaching introductory top roping courses and bouldering to novices, coaching our kids clubs, teaching technique and movement skills, coaching adults who want to improve their leading/top roping/ bouldering grades, running corporate sessions, taster sessions and abseils. I lived in Germany between 2005 and 2010, hence the large gap in UK based activities. Whilst there, I was mainly climbing in the Saechsischesweitz National park (that place near Dresden where you use slings and knotted rope instead of metal protection and can't use chalk!!), quarries surrounding Leipzig (where I lived) and occasional trips to Frankenjura. I went on several climbing trips each year to Spain and France and in 2008 went on a 5 month climbing trip around Germany, Austria, Italy France and Monaco. Since returning to London, I have been re-establishing myself in London as a freelance instructor and am building up private clients who are keen for me to take them Mountaineering in the UK and abroad. I am also a duty manager at the Castle Climbing centre.
