Charlie Mackie - 93391

I have worked as an outdoor professional from aged 18, starting at indoor climbing walls; EICA Ratho and Awesome walls Stockport/ Stoke/ Sheffield, delivering a full spectrum of sessions including kids club, tasters, coaching, route setting and staff training.

After completing a degree at Manchester Met Uni in Outdoor Studies and Sport Science, i began working as a freelance instructor. This work was predominantly walking work such as Duke of Edinburgh, National and Yorkshire Three Peaks events, and some climbing work and charity abseils. After working for a year at Edale outdoor centre, where i delivered sessions on climbing, caving, hill walking, archery and bushcraft. I got a role at Pure Outdoor, where i deliver skills courses in rock climbing and hill walking. This has involved teaching and building independence skills to individuals and groups.

Alongside this i've worked for a variety of companies delivering a broad array of other sessions. Including adventure training for the British Army in the Lake District, charity guided walks in North Wales and the Lakes, British Youth team coaching in the North West, corporate groups and team building.

I've also worked delivering Mountain Training courses (CWI, CWDI and RCI) Upskilling and developing people towards becoming, and qualifying them as instructors.
