Description

I organised a walk for my Meetup group, the Walking, Hillwalking and Activities Meetup. I had climbed Ben Donich before and warned people of what to expect in the walk description - I included a photo of the "big step" that we would have to climb down and then up again on the return.
I also kept a close eye on the weather forecasts and told members that the walk would be cancelled if conditions turned to freezing. However it was unseasonably mild on the day of the walk.
We had a great day out, which everyone seemed to enjoy, despite cloud at the summit preventing any views. One group member who I know quite well had left his backpack at home. He is usually very sensible - this was just a lapse of attention as he left home. He had his walking boots with him and was wearing warm, waterproof gear. I was able to lend him a hat and gloves, as I always carry spares, and me and some of the others shared our lunch with him.

Area : Inveraray to Crianlarich (Ben Lui)

From the Arrochar Alps to Ben Lui, this area is home to nine Munros. Half of the peaks in the area are within the boundaries of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, while the others lie to the west. The three summits of The Cobbler (884m) contain some of the best climbing in the Southern Highlands while Ben Lui in winter looks positively Alpine. Access is relatively straightforward from the A83, A82 or A85.
