Description

Adventure Quest Day 3:
Ascent from head of the valley to Trou de la Mouche.
Saw herd of Chamoix on one of the big remaining snow slopes.
Brought up the rear with Evo and Richard.
Lunched at Trou de la Mouche and also scrambled around, scurried up a slab and reached a summit.
Descent via the adjacent Eastern combe, on lots of snow which presented entertaining glissade options.
Incredible sighting of la gypaete barbu, which made several low, slow passes of us and then landed, picked up a bone and flew over to a rock gulley, were it dropped the bone, swopped on it and ate the marrow (which is about 80-90% of its diet) The most beautiful bird I have ever seen. It took everyone`s breath away.
