Description

Climbed as a group of 3, we did the Zugspitze via the Hollentalklamm. A very long day indeed with just under 13 hours of walking and nearly 2300m of ascent. We started off in the Hollental and walked up and into the gorge of Holllental, a scenic start to the day, before heading up into the valley before reaching the first steal cables aiding our way across steeper sections. The steepness becomes far greater and the steel cabling leads to sections of via ferrata as we move higher. Eventually we top out with the odd steel cable keeping us safe before our trundle up into the ski area of the Zugspitze. We pop into the Gletscher haus where we will stay the night, and drop our sleeping kit, before making the final steep uphill to reach the cross and the top of germany at 2962m.
