Did this mountain in the middle of a beautiful clear night. Set off at midnight with my husband, deliberately as we knew the forecast the next day was rotten. took the route from the south of mount keen, past the queens well, which was very eerie in the dark.
No wind as we got to the top, watching a very orange moon rise over the north sea.
we sat for a while at the top, just looking at the moon lighted view and headed back the same route we had come up. Back to the van and tent for 5 am and sleeping before heading out for the day in worsening weather.
