Description

Bowfell from Langdale, via the climbers traverse.
My husband hadnt been up the climbers traverse before so we headed out to play. Chilly day with a slight breeze, blue skies with scattered clouds.
Some remaining patches of quite hard snow on the climbers traverse required a little care, but nothing that required winter equipment.
no snow on the tops, and great views across to the scafells.
6 hours out wandering.

Area : Southern Fells (Scafell Pike)

The Southern Fells Include Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, occupy a broad area to the south of Great Langdale, Borrowdale and Wasdale. High and rocky towards the centre of the Lake District, the Southern Fells progressively take on a moorland character toward the south west. In the south east are the well known Furness Fells, their heavily quarried flanks rising above Coniston Water.
