An atmospheric day up Helvellyn via Striding edge to Lower Man then down swirral edge to Catstye Cam and down the NW ridge to the dam with the hole in it an back to patterdale. Vis was about 20m above 700m. Snow covered the ground from around 600/650m. Crampons and and axe were used.
