Snow at Glen Level. From Achnachellach, we followed the Coire Lair Path until 330m, where snow cover meant we lost the path. we Headed to Drochaid Coire Lair to begin our ascent of Beinn Liath Mhor. Breaking trail on the steep SE side was tedious. From 876m the snow hardened and wind speed increased. We worked our way west along the ridge, sticking to scoured slopes to avoid deep drifts. From the summit we followed the natural spur line to the pass, avoiding convexities and small cliff drops. At the pass we climbed via a ramp line to the base of Sgorr ruadh and in glowing sunset we summited Sgorr Ruadh. We were at 669m when the sun set, but a full moon allowed us to walk out of the mountain roughly following a snowed in path back to coire lair without headtorches.
