This was intended as an easier day following the very wet weather and the soaking we got on Bleaklow the day before. Parked the car in Hathersage and walked up from the centre of the village past the Bronte cottage, through a plantation up onto the eastern end of Stanedge Edge. Turned SE and followed the ridge of higher ground at the edge of White Path Moss. Crossed the road and continued walking across Burbage Moor gradually heading south to reach road at Fox House Inn. From here route went through forest, across a road and up to Mothers Cap rock and Over Owler Tor and through fields back to Hathersage.
Area :
White Peak
Lies to the south of the Dark Peak where the underlying rock is limestone - hence the name. Tends to be a little lower in altitude and also may be known as the Derbyshire or Staffordshire Dales.
