Description

First week of the school summer holidays my girlfriend and I went for a few days walking on Dartmoor. I had been the year before and knew she would like it - mainly because of all the Dartmoor ponies! Weather was really good for the whole trip and we were camping at Runnage Farm near Postbridge
Route started at Princetown and headed West climbing towards the radio mast on top of North Hessary Tor. Headed NW and dropped down to the road before heading up to Great Mis Tor and then NE to climb up to Cocks Hill. From top of hill we headed East and eventually picked up the bridleway that ran below Lydford Tor. From here walked up to Beardown Tors and then descended by following the Devonport Leat (which looks like it runs uphill in places!?) Followed path and leat to the road at Two Bridges. Head East along road briefly and took bridleway south which took us back to Princetown. Good day but very hot!
