Description

Ascended from Briathwaite, Kinn, Grisdale Pike (very windy at summit). Hopegill head (in cloud, poor vis across summits including Sand Hill, Eel Crag, Crag Hill, Sail and Scar Crags which were a little exposed due to wind, wet underfoot due to cloud and poor vis. View from Causey Pike beautiful, Contoured down to Outderside, lost the light and descended to Stile End in dark rather than doing Barrow, wet with dense heather underfoot. Returned to pub at Braithwaite.
Challenging Nav day that James B did most of the work on with me backing him up/ assisting when needed. Practicing Silver NNAS Skills. Good poor vis nav practice for me also. Intermittent excellent views throughout the day when dropping out of the cloud base.
