This was the first weekend away for me to be meeting members of the group I would be summiting Kilimanjaro with.
I rocked up late on the Saturday at the Wasdale Head to meet Adventure.nic (Nichola Hardy), Mountains_with_Matt (Matthew Watson) and Gdawwwwg (Graham Ambridge) and had a cheeky pint whilst getting to know the crew.
Once having acquainted we all headed to the National Trust campsite, I tent shared with Matt the Yorkshireman.
What I enjoyed most about this weekend was the weather, it was snowing loads and suitable for ice axes and crampons most of the day.
I particularity enjoyed just getting my head down between the mountains, walking in the snowy windy poor visability and looking up to see Pillar appear from nowhere.
This was certainly a great experience of how the weather can be and made a great day out in the lakes.
Once completing the QMDwe'd all gone back to the Wasdale head and ordered tea and plenty of sides and starters to eat.
Really tucking in in the pub with this new group of friends, whilst defrosting from the cold was like heaven, this opened up a new type of adventure for me.
