Description

It was a bank holiday weekend and I decided to try somewhere new rather than be crushed in the crowds elsewhere! I drove out to Castle O’er Forest near Langholm and parked at NY247928. I followed a good forest track North through Bridge Pool Plantation to Castlehill. I didn’t see much nature wise, but the view over the river White Esk was lovely. Upon visiting Bessie’s Hill I headed down to the road and followed this back to the car park. An easy route but good navigation practice in an unfamiliar area.
