53. Cwm Glas: Wind: SW 70-100mph (forecast); weather: overcast; ground: dry. Skills: route finding, route planning around conditions, changing plans due to conditions. Group: 1 (Dafydd Wyn Williams). Duration: 5h almost exactly!
Caught bus from Llanberis to Cromlech; scrambled up the right of Afon Gennog; crossed Cwm Glas, Route finding up to Gyrn Las; Fighting the wind(!) to shelter at 608551; Decided not to summit Crib y Ddysgl due to high winds; then blown down Snowdon Ranger (wind speeded our descent, so we ran most of it!) until SH582554, where we headed up to Bwlch Maesgwm and down to Llanberis. Dave thanked me for a route well-led. He’s a North Wales native (born Brynsiencyn, lives Llanberis) into fell running, cycling, etc., but had never been up Cwm Glas before.
