Date is approximate as I don't remember exactly when it was. I began the walk from Brothers Water and followed the Western shore past Hartsop Hall and up Dovedale Valley to Houndshope Cove. I remember it was quite icy along here, and care was needed over the frozen streams. I could see Priest's Hole but did not attempt to go and view it, as the area was wet and quite slippery as I recall. I climbed onto Dove Crag and headed East to Black Brow and Little Hart Crag. There were bits of cloud skimming the hills (the remainder of a cloud inversion). It did look quite amazing. The path was harder to follow here and quite thin but I had no difficulties and headed to High Hartsop Dodd, where I began the steep descent to some farm buildings. I followed the farm track Northwards to Hartsop Hall and back to Brother's Water.
Area :
Eastern Fells
The Eastern Fells occupy the region between the A591 Keswick to Ambleside road and the lake of Ullswater to the west. The Helvellyn range forms the main spine of the group. To the south across the depression of Grisedale Hause, is the Fairfield group of fells.
