Description

Date is approximate. This was another favourite walk, again catching the train from Sheffield and alighting at Bamford. From here we would walk to Thornhill then pick up a track at SK195841 which led up to Winhill Plantation and West onto the summit of Win Hill. The views from here are outstanding. We headed North West to join the Roman Road at SK168863. I recall when I was a young girl my brother and I made a snowman here one winter! The route continued North West then veered West at SK158879 where it continued onto the Access Land near Madwoman's Stones. (Crookstone Out Moor). The path was followed past Druid's Stone before heading South down The Nab, into Edale where the train was caught back to Sheffield.
