Description

Working today with a regular family. They wanted to achieve a bigger hill for their young daughter who is 7. Also this day I had their parents with us who are 60+.
None had any experience of walking in the winter, so I chose a route to keep us as sheltered as possible from the 30+ westerly winds. I carried spikes for everyone, as I knew where we were going didnt require crampons due to a previous recce. However spikes for teaching, and to give the little girl something to try.
This was just a guided walk as opposed to a course, parents got peace and quiet to walk whilst I entertained their daugter.
the wind became too much for the party to reach the summit, so we turned back, lots of spindrift about therefore I gave each of them goggles much to the delight of Rosie who now was rather enjoying herself.
We returned back down to kentmere via the nan bield pass.
Everyone was very happy.
