Parked the car in Beddgelert Forest and headed S and then W to follow the footpath through the forest. Left the forest by the stile immediately to the SE of Moel yr Ogof and then climbed up to Bwlch Mellionen and then headed up to the summit of Moel Hebog. It was icy as it was early morning and there was still some patchy snow about. Wind was cold and fairly strong at the top but gave good views of Snowdon. Descended Moel Hebog by the same path (v. icy!) and then took the path N towards the summits of both Moel Y Ogof and Moel Lefn. Descended Moel Lefn and then continued N and climbed the small hill marked Y Gryn on the map. From the top of Y Gryn I dropped down to the NW and picked up the bridleway back into the forest and returned to the car.
A really great day on the hills, cold and windy but the day was clear and sunny and the views were fantastic. Moel Hebog was a hill I'd seen on the map and had never climbed but this was a great route and one that I will definitely do again.
