I began from Gwastadnant and headed SE for a time (luckily there was a nice roadside footpath for much of the way!) to pick up a track by a postbox heading Eastwards through fields before climbing a very stiff path beside the river Afon Las with views to a lovely waterfall. Then it was onwards to Cwm Padrig, where the climb eased. I then went on to Llyn y Cwn (tarn). From here I ascended North on an unmissable path to Y Garn, then continued North on a grassy slope to Foel-Goch. From here it was a bit of a scree path to join another path which traversed below the summit of this mountain. I continued North to Bwlch y Brecan, where I turned SW down a steep grassy slope to a hanging valley by the river Afon Dudodyn, then I dropped down to Fron and followed a minor road back to the village.

Moelwynion
The Moelwynion (a Welsh plural, sometimes anglicised to Moelwyns) are a group of mountains in central Snowdonia. They extend from the north-east of Porthmadog to Moel Siabod, the highest of the group. The name derives from the names of the two largest mountains in the group, Moelwyn Mawr (great white hill) and Moelwyn Bach (little white hill).
