Description

This was a walk that I led for The Huddersfield Rucksack Club's trip to the Midi Pyrenees.
Starting in the village of Nébias we headed south and crossed the D117 to join the Sentier Cathare (Cathar Trail) taking us east to the hamlet of Lafage.
We then went south again, starting to climb steeply upwards through the forest, following the Cathare Trail taking us west and climbing up again till we eventually came to a viewpoint at 1000m height overlooking Nébias and the hills to the north.
From here, we headed west till the path came to a dead end, with no way through the undergrowth and trees to our desired location, Lac de Tury.
After some consultation of the guide book and map, we managed to find our way to Lac de Tury and following the forest track downwards, we joined the Chemin du Trabenet (Trabenet Path), taking us north west and then north back to Nébias.
