Description

This was a walk that I led for the Huddersfield Rucksack Club's trip to the Midi Pyrenees.
Starting at the small hamlet of Roquefort les Cascades, our walk began with a short trip to see the waterfalls after which the hamlet was named after. We then retraced our steps, almost back to where we started before heading west along a road which eventually came to a forest track, climbing upwards for approx 1.5 km before coming to an obvious path junction.

Taking the left hand path, climbing upwards again before levelling off after 0.5 km and then crossing a field on the left to join a path heading south, dropping height slightly before climbing up and heading east.
In the distance, Roquefixade Castle comes into view, as does the ridge that we'll be walking along to climb up to Roc Marot at 1002m.
We started descending down towards the forest on the eastern side of the summit and taking a path going north, we eventually came to a sign for the waterfalls that we saw earlier.
Taking that path to view the waterfalls from a different angle than earlier, we then walked back to the hamlet of Roquefort led Cascades.
