Description

Beginning from Succoth I headed West to join a well defined path (The Cowal Way) to a junction on the right by a stream, where I headed steeply uphill through midges and forestry to a small dam. From here I headed West along a thin path, continuing to climb until I reached a small plateau. I continued North West onto A n t-Sron and followed a steep but well defined path to the summit of Arthur's Seat (The Cobbler). Views were non-existent so I did not hang around for long. I proceeded to the North Peak, where I followed a much easier path to a tarn, Lochan a'Chlaidheimh. From here it was an easy stroll on a very well defined path in a South East direction. I continued below Yawning Crag to the Narnia Boulders, then after arriving back at NN279050 I found an easier forest track to descend by which zig-zagged through the forest and back to Succoth.

Area : Inveraray to Crianlarich (Ben Lui)

From the Arrochar Alps to Ben Lui, this area is home to nine Munros. Half of the peaks in the area are within the boundaries of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, while the others lie to the west. The three summits of The Cobbler (884m) contain some of the best climbing in the Southern Highlands while Ben Lui in winter looks positively Alpine. Access is relatively straightforward from the A83, A82 or A85.
