Description

On the hottest Welsh August Bank Holiday in recorded history, Marty, Belinda and I decided to visit this crag. North Wales Rock description is somewhat lacking!
P1 46m I led. Distance is right. Keep left and find the easiest breach in the loose wall below the grass ramp.
P2 46m Marty led. More like 38m. Nice pitch though.
P3 30m I led. Only just over 25m. As described (around the left!).
P4 we got lost here! We think the right plan would be to head left a lot more, rather than climbing up the really loose choss to the summit! Should've done the VS alternative...
P5 15m not needed the route we took!
Descent path is to the RIGHT facing into the mountain.

Area : Nant Gwynant, Bethgellert, Cwellyn and Nantlle

This rather large Area covers Nant Gwynant as far as Bethgellert (including outlying crags on the the southern flanks of Snowdon, notably Llechog) , then north to Cwellyn (notable for the fearsome Castell Cidwm), and further west to the Nantlle valley with the remote mountainous crags in the Cwm Silyn range. Slither up the glassy sides of Lockwood’s Chimney, try the deep water soloing on Elephant Rock, romp up the massive buckets on Oxine, scare yourself silly on Dwm, finesse your way up Angel Pavement; these are just some of the highlights of climbing in this area.
