Conditions under foot: wet low down; thick sticky snow on tops (no ice).
Weather: Gale winds (upto 80kph); freezing rain turning to sleet higher up. Crampons not necessary.
A Clwyd Mountaineering Club Christmas walk circuit of Dafydd to Yr Elen. Tim A. led his route, but often consulted with me on the decisions made. Stopped for lunch in the east-side shelter on Bwlch Cyfryw-Drum.
Group size: originally 12, a handful turned back early on, ending in 9.
