This was a walk that I led for my Scout group as part of our annual summer camp.
Starting at our campsite near Pantperthog, we crossed the stream, Nant Lliwdy, and headed northwest towards Foel Eirin.
We went around the hill to a saw mill, then headed northwest to Drainllwydion and around Ffridd Graig-fach to a disused quarry.
We then walked up the ridge up to Tarren Y Gesail, heading west along the summit, then following the fence south to Nant Llaeron and across to the medieval bridge, Pont Llaeron.
From there, we retraced our steps to cross a field northwest and then made our way on paths and tracks to Nant Gwernol train station.
13 scouts and explorers. 2 leaders.
No incidents.

Cadair Idris
Cadair Idris or Cader Idris is a mountain in Gwynedd, Wales, which lies at the southern end of the Snowdonia National Park near the town of Dolgellau. The peak, which is one of the most popular in Wales for walkers and hikers,[1] is composed largely of Ordovician igneous rocks, with classic glacial erosion features such as cwms, moraines, striated rocks, and roches moutonnées.
