We all packed up from Torridon and headed east, with the possibility of a hill near Achnasheen. When we got there, the sun was shining. It was still windy and the tops had cloud on them, but I was pleased to join Tom Bain and Ian Coker on an ascent of Fionn Bheinn. A big grassy lump. I was appalled at the prospect on the map, but the hill was not all bad. It was definitely not one on my A list (the hills I want to do). And when we reached the summit, I thought that I might accept that I might climb all the Munros eventually if I was willing to spend the day’s effort on a hill I didn’t find an appealing prospect. Tom summed it up when he said that he was still enjoying climbing the hill more than not being there. Returned to the cars the same way.
