Description

Ciste Dhubh and Am Bàthach

Initially a clear and fresh morning allowed for efficient get-in from the road. Visibility reduced and snow-wading commenced on initial ascent. As we made our way to the Ciste Dhubh ridge visibility was >10m so careful navigation was required to keep to the West side of the edge. No views at the summit, however a timely decent into clear skies and a moments view of the Ciste Dhubh summit as we ascended Am Bàthach gave us the 'this is why we do it' moment. A very pleasant descent along Am Bàthach ridge-line in the setting sun. a glorious QMD.

Area : Glen Affric and Kintail

South of Loch Mullardoch you will find the Glen Affric and Kintail area whose southern boundary is the A87 road to Inverness. The Five Sisters of Kintail, Beinn Fhada, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan and Carn Eighe are just some of the impressive peaks in this area, and all have their own unique selling points such as remoteness, size, steepness or height. As a result, peaks in the list are all over 900m.
