Description

Dad bagging his last Wainrights. Late start as forcast better in the afternoon. Didn't set off till 1pm, trying to allow high winds and rain to clear.
Wind had dropped. Light showers. Low cloud and poor vis from 500m
With mum, dad, James, Helen and Glenn.
Helen and Glenn turned back when we entered the cloud, despite reassuring them that the top was 100m away and we could navigate there.

Area : Central Fells

The Vale of Keswick, provides separation from the Northern Fells whilst to the west runs the long valley of Borrowdale. The parallel eastern boundary is created by Thirlmere and the St Johns in the Vale. Grasmere to Windermere forms the remainder of the eastern boundary. In the west, Stake Pass descends into Great Langdale.
