Peniston Rail Station Parking lot start. Trans Pennine Trail runs directly behind the Station. Hiked West on the Trans Pennine to pick up the Peniston Boundary Trail South to Langsett Reservoir (200m). Began assent at Delf Edge to Hangcliff Hill (358M) and continuing South along Michleden Edge on Cut Gate Path. Passed Bull Clough, to Howden Edge. Turned Souteast to the Triangulation Pillar on Margery Hill (546m). Return to Peniston on the same path. Planning was conducted using both the OS Landranger 110, 1:50 000 map (to identify the best starting point for trek to Margery Hill),and the OS Explorer OL 1 1:25 000 map, as the trails/paths from Peniston to Langsett Reservoir not shown on the Harvey Peak District North 1:25 000 map, which I prefer for tracking while on the move across open moorland. The previous day (Thursday) had been heavy rain and periodic thunderstorms so I knew the ground underfoot would be wet and sometimes the paths under water, which they were. However, the weather forecasts from both Mountain Weather Information Service (MWIS) and The Met office called for periods of sun with 40% of periods of rain on the day (Friday). It actually rained continuously throughout the day, with low visibility starting at 400m, and some sleet at 500m. Total time: 6 hours 30 minutes; Total Distance: 17.86 miles/
