GREAT GABLE via Pinnacle Ridge to the summit went passed the sphinx . The snow was graupel, able to kick steps but just went through to the ground below in some places. Knowledge was increased through use of a rope to protect places of exposure, use of ice axe and the flora & fauna pointed out by Mal Thomas IML. Safety was constantly assessed as helmets put on and off as discussions made regarding the Terran. Under foot was mix of ice, snow and graupel. Crampons were carried and not used on this trip. All in a very good day making lots of decisions and thought provoking day.
