Parked the car at grid SH 753135. Headed SW down the hill to the main car park. From here I picked up the track to take me up to Llyn Cau. From here I headed round to summit Cadair Idris. I then pushed on to Mynydd Moel and Gau Graig. I made my way down through the steep ground to Mynydd Gwerngraig and back through the disused quarry to where the car was parked.
At the summit the weather changed. Winds picked up and it snowed and rained briefly. This was a great day as it was a new area for me and I particularly enjoyed navigating my way down through the steep ground after Gau Graig.

Cadair Idris
Cadair Idris or Cader Idris is a mountain in Gwynedd, Wales, which lies at the southern end of the Snowdonia National Park near the town of Dolgellau. The peak, which is one of the most popular in Wales for walkers and hikers,[1] is composed largely of Ordovician igneous rocks, with classic glacial erosion features such as cwms, moraines, striated rocks, and roches moutonnées.
