Started at the car park behind Joe Brown's shop in Capel Curig. From here I walked along the track to the southern side of the A5, I then crossed the road to head through Tal-y-braich and push North up to the summit of Pen yr Helgi Du. After this I then headed NW to summit Carnedd Llewelyn and then North to Foel Grach. After this I then headed SE through the steep decent to Cwm Eigiau and the old settlement at the bottom. I made my way along towards the reservoir then headed SE towards the Dam at Llyn Cowlyd. From here I walked along the reservoir SW back through Tal-y-waun and back to the car park where I started.
The weather up near the top of Pen yr Helgi Du changed very quickly with strong winds and sleet. Navigation training on this walk was good as a big portion of the route was all new to me.

Carneddau
The Carneddau (lit. "the cairns"; Carneddau is a Welsh plural form, and is sometimes anglicised to Carnedds) are a group of mountains in Snowdonia, Wales. They include the largest contiguous areas of high ground (over 2,500 or 3,000 feet (910 m) high) in Wales and England, as well as six or seven of the highest peaks in the country—the Fourteen Peaks. The range also encloses a number of lakes such as Llyn Cowlyd and Llyn Eigiau, and the Aber Falls waterfalls. It is delimited by the Irish Sea to the north, the Conwy valley to the east, and by the A5 road from Betws-y-Coed to Bethesda to the south and west. The area covers nearly 200 square kilometres, about 10% of the area of Snowdonia.
