PYB Welsh Winter Skills Day 2: Walk up from Ogwen Cottage into Cwm Idwal, up Devils Kitchen to the summit of Glyder Fawr to find a snow field to work on Crampon and Ice Ax skills. Though there had been plenty of snow an ice a week before, a warm front and high pressure resulted in most of the snow receding to above 900m. There was still a large snow field on the northwest slope of Glyder Fawr just below the summit.

Glyderau
The Glyderau (a Welsh plural form, also known in English as the Glyders) are a mountain group in Snowdonia, North Wales. The name derives from the highest peaks in the range, Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach. According to Sir Ifor Williams, the word "Glyder" derives from the Welsh word "Cludair", meaning a heap of stones.
