Description

With M to Coire Mhic Fhearchear & up the access gully, crampons needed but probably easier than summer. Spikes off to go to Ruadh Stac Mor, then back to gully top & lunch. Spikes back on to continue ridge. At Pt 913m we met a pair in difficulty, one with bad stomach cramps consequent upon Crone's disease and not willing to move. Mate phoning rescue. M tried to talk him in to walking down with us, but no way is easy from here. I provided a location & we offered food & clothes. It was a good location & conditions for a helicopter & MR decided that was what they would do. Having lost about 40 mins we decided to continue (crampons off again) & made it quickly to the trig point. In view of the lost time & since we had done the last section to Spidean Coire nan Clach so recently, and were slightly disinclined to put crampons on yet again, we headed down S ridge and then a direct route down a heathery shoulder to the Coire Dubh path. We did note a very quick way off from the bump before the trig point, to link with our heathery shoulder.

Area : Cuillin and Torridon (Liathach)

This area is on the west coast of Scotland and its most well-known mountains are probably Beinn Eighe (1010m) and Liathach (1055m). The area is bordered by Loch Maree and the A832 to the north and Glen Carron and the A890 to the south. It should not to be confused with The Cuillin which is on Skye and listed in the Western Isles region. The mountains list contains all peaks above 800m.
