Day 5 of the 2021 DBR was an incredibly tough day in the mountains. The pain from bruising in my quad slowed me down significantly, making every descent agonizingly slow. To compensate, I had to push hard on the climbs, hiking at a relentless pace to make up for lost time.Despite the pain and the challenges, quitting was never an option—I had come too far to give up. The clear, sunny weather provided good visibility, but the lack of wind offered no relief from the intense physical effort. The route spanned 71.65 km with 3643 m of ascent, taking in peaks like Fan Brycheiniog and Fan Foel. Each climb was a battle, and every descent a test of endurance. I was in so much pain, but sheer determination kept me moving forward.I can hardly believe I made it through this day, but it stands as a testament to pushing through when every part of your body is telling you to stop. This was a day that truly tested my limits and reinforced the strength of willpower.
