White Water training on the River Dee. Participating as a Group member and observing and assisting with a Canoe Leader Assessment.
Water levels on the Dee were low. Put in at Llangollen at the canal in the town center. Paddled the canal up stream to the put in at the Horseshoe Weir. Worked on skills crossing the jets coming off of the weir in low water, then descended to Chain Bridge and Serpents Tail. The water was low and fast at Serpents Tail. The first boat through was damaged due to rocks and very narrow passage, so practiced lining down through the high water flow. Then continued on down to the rapids at the collapsed weir, and then to Mile End Mill where we finished.
